1894

Mr. Kobei Asakawa founded Kakuko Asakawa Shoten, a wholesaler of pharmaceuticals in Tokyo.

1946

Company name changed to Tokyo Kasei Kogyo Co., Ltd. The business specializes in manufacturing and marketing organic laboratory chemicals.

1952

First catalogue issued.

1966

Fukaya factory is inaugurated to expand production capacity.

1985

American Tokyo Kasei Inc.(now TCI America) is established in Portland, Oregon, U.S.A., to improve customer service in that country.

1993

Repacking center is opened in Tsukuba, Japan. 

1997

Sales office is opened in New York, U.S.A., to support customers on the East Coast.

1999

TCI MAIL (Quarterly Newsletter) is first published.
TCI Europe N. V. is established in Antwerp, Belgium.

2002

Fukaya factory is certified for ISO9001:2000 (JQA-QM8374) and IQ Net (JP-JQA-QM8374).
Distribution center is opened in Kawaguchi, Japan.
TCI (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. is established in Shanghai, China.

2003

East coast sales office is relocated to Boston. 

2005

TCI (Shanghai) Development Co., Ltd. is established in Shanghai, China.

2006

The English company name is changed to Tokyo Chemical Industry Co., Ltd.
TCI Deutschland GmbH is established in Frankfurt, Germany.
Fukaya factory is certified for ISO14001:2004 (JQA-EM5386) and IQ Net (JP-JQA-EM5386).

2007

Tokyo Chemical Industry UK Ltd. is established in Oxford, United Kingdom.

2008

TCI Chemicals (India) Pvt. Ltd. is established in Chennai, India

2011

Sales office is opened in Beijing, China.
Distribution center is opened in Tianjin, China. 

2012

Distribution center is opened in Philadelphia, U.S.A.
Sales office is opened in Pudong, China.

2013

TCI Chemicals (India) Pvt. Ltd. opened warehouse in MEPZ-SEZ, Chennai, India.

2014

Set up Sales Marketing Head Office in Boston.
