Organic Semiconducting Polymer: Highly Regioregular Polythiophene P3HT

Poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) is widely useful in organic electronics research fields, because it is one representative material of soluble organic semiconducting polymers. Normally performance of an electronics material is sensitive to the quality of the material. Among them, purity and molecular weight are important factors for the material performance. We commercialized high purity P3HT (P2513) by using a direct arylation polymerization (DArP)1,2) which is a collaborative work with Prof. Ozawa at Kyoto University. P2513 has a highly regioregular structure and has a stable molecular weight and polydispersity index. In addition, P2513 is useful for solution process-able organic solar cells,3,4) perovskite solar cells,5) and organic transistor research,6) because of its high solubility.

Advantages

・ High regioregularity (RR) > 99%
・ Number average molecular weight: Mn = 36k-44k, PDI <2.5
・ Electronic material grade: High purity, low metal (Pd < 100 ppm)
・ Highly soluble, excellent to film
