Mr. Kobei Asakawa founded Kakuko Asakawa Shoten, a wholesaler of pharmaceuticals in Tokyo.
1946
Company name changed to Tokyo Kasei Kogyo Co., Ltd. The business specializes in manufacturing and marketing organic laboratory chemicals.
1952
First catalogue issued.
1966
Fukaya plant is inaugurated to expand production capacity.
1985
American Tokyo Kasei Inc.(now TCI America) is established in Portland, Oregon, U.S.A., to improve customer service in that country.
1997
Sales office is opened in New York, U.S.A., to support customers on the East Coast.
1999
TCI MAIL (Quarterly Newsletter) is first published.
TCI Europe N. V. is established in Antwerp, Belgium.
2002
Fukaya Plant is certified for ISO9001:2000 (JQA-QM8374) and IQ Net (JP-JQA-QM8374).
TCI (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. is established in Shanghai, China.

TCI (Shanghai) Development Co., Ltd. is established in Shanghai, China.

The English company name is changed to Tokyo Chemical Industry Co., Ltd.
Established sales office (TCI Deutschland GmbH) in Frankfurt, Germany.
