How to Search

New molecule editor, JSME, is now available! Fast start-up. No Java update necessary.

Simple search function is available to search all TCI products by any keywords such as product name, product #, CAS # in one search window.

<Key Features>
Suggestion Function: As you type, the search window auto-completes your keyword, displaying several suggestions.
Site Contents & Product Category Search: Not only products but also site contents and product categories are now searchable from the same search window.
”Did you mean?” Function: Words similar to the searched keyword are automatically displayed on the search result page.

search box

Enter the search keyword into the textbox. Then the suggested keywords are listed. If there is the desired one, click it. If not, please continue to enter the keyword.
Enter up to five words separated by a space and search.
e.g. Enter "Acetyl Butyl" to search for product names containing both the words "Acetyl" and "Butyl".

Please see instructions below on how to use Search Function.

Tips on How to Enter Keywords
CAS Number Hyphens can be abbreviated.
Enter full numbers. If partial number is entered, the results will not be correct.
MDL Number "MFCD" can be abbreviated.
Enter full numbers including “0”. If partial number is entered, the results will not be correct.
Product Number Enter one letter followed by 4 numbers (e.g. A0001).
If partial number is entered, the results will not be correct.
Molecular Formula Enter letters carefully, system is case sensitive.
Click here to see the details of how to enter a molecular formula in the correct format.
Others In case of Greek letters, enter it with English spelling not as Greek letter.
  e.g. alpha

Search results are displayed as 3 categories. The number of hits is indicated in each bracket.
Product: List of products that have keywords in the product name
Product Category: List of product categories that have keywords in the category name
Site Content: List of website contents that have keywords in the text

Click and switch to each categories.

In search results page, exact matched results are displayed first, and other results are displayed below exact matches.

Structure Search

Search by structural formula
1. Click a radio button of drawing tool you want to use, and draw a structural formula.
SMILES should be entered directly into the textbox.

2. Click a radio button of search type, and click "Search".

About Drawing Tools

JSME Editor

Icon

SMILE
Display the SMILES of the molecule that was drawn.
CLR
Clears the editing area
NEW
To find a molecule which consists of more than 2 molecules such as Salt compounds, chelate compounds and etc., draw a part of molecule, click the NEW button, then draw another molecule. Recommend to use a Substructure Search button.
DEL
Switches to eraser mode (click to atoms or bonds to delete them)
D-R
Deletes functional groups - choose this option and then click the bond connecting the group with the main skeleton
+/-
Atomic charges may be changed by the +/- button
UDO
Undo last editing step
RETURN
Redo the previous action.
SPIRO
Add next ring as a spiro ring.
LEFTKARA
Draw new bond and hydrocarbon chain.  Click or drag on the drawing area.
SANKAKUMARU
Draw new hydrocarbon chain ring. Click or  drag on the drawing area.
FG
Open functional group popup menu. Select a functional group, and click on an atom that you want to add.
CPP
Draw an atom or change an existing  atom as specified.

"Non-organic" atoms or atoms with nonstandard valence may be entered with help of X button by specifying atomic SMILES (without [] brackets, i.e. Si, Fe++, NH3+)

Keyboard Shortcuts

ESC
Returns to the standard editing state (carbon, single bond)

For the following functions, press the appropriate key on the keyboard and click the point in the structure where you want to add the atom selected.

atoms
