Anwendung
Aprepitant: A Selective High-Affinity Antagonist of the Substance P/Neurokinin 1 (NK1) Receptors
Aprepitant is a selective high-affinity antagonist of the substance P/neurokinin 1 (NK1) receptors. Aprepitan crosses the blood barrier, and then aprepitan occupies brain NK1 receptors and blocks the binding of substance P to the receptors. (Substance P is a neuropeptide, acting as a neurotransmitter and as a neuromodulator.) Aprepitant has little or no affinity for serotonin (5-HT3), dopamine, and corticosteroid receptors. Aprepitant is used for the treatment of nausea and vomiting. (The product is for research purpose only.)
