Anwendung
Tetrandrine: A Bisbenzylisoquinoline Alkaloid with Broad Pharmacological Activities
Tetrandrine is a bisbenzylisoquinoline alkaloid isolated from the dried root of Stephenia tetrandra S Moore which is a plant indigenous to main land of China that has long been used as a Chinese herb. Recently, several studies have demonstrated that tetrandrine is a calcium channel receptor antagonist. Moreover, tetrandrine exhibits broad pharmacological activities, including antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic and antitumor activities. Tetrandrine has also been shown to inhibit infection of human macrophages, the primary target of Ebola virus, and also showed therapeutic efficacy in mice. (The product is for research purpose only.)
