Application
Acepromazine Maleate: A Phenothiazine Antipsychotic Agent for Veterinary Medicine
Acepromazine maleate is a phenothiazine antipsychotic agent and an analog of chlorpromazine hydrochloride [C2481]. It has been reported that acepromazine has a depressant effect on the central nervous system as a dopamine receptor antagonist and, therefore, causes sedation, muscular relaxation and a reduction in spontaneous activity. Acepromazine is used exclusively in veterinary medicine for multiple purposes. (The product is for research purpose only.)
