Diclofenac Sodium Salt: A Non-Selective Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID)
Diclofenac sodium salt is a sodium salt of diclofenac [D3748] which is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with strong analgesic activity. It is a non-selective cyclooxygenase (COX) inhibitor. COX directs the formation of several key mediators of inflammation called prostaglandins. Thus, diclofenac sodium salt reduces the synthesis of prostaglandins. Diclofenac sodium salt is often used as a delayed-release dosage form of diclofenac. In addition, diclofenac sodium salt has been reportedly found to possess antibacterial activity. (The product is for research purpose only.)
