Sennoside A (erythro) [E1541] and sennoside B (threo) are extracted from the plant group Senna, which is an important medicinal plant. They are dianthrone glycosides and diastereomers with laxative and gastroprotective activities. Recently, they have been reported to possess numerous pharmacological properties.
