Application
Liranaftate: A Synthetic Thiocarbamate Antifungal Reagent
Liranaftate (piritetrate or M-732) is a chemical synthetic antifungal reagent, belonging chemically to the thiocarbamates. Although the exact mechanism of action is not entirely known, liranaftate would inhibit sterol biosynthesis at the level of squalene epoxidase which is an important enzyme in the biosynthetic pathway of the fungal membrane. Similar antifungal reagent includes tolnaftate [T3059]. (The product is for research purpose only.)
