Rimantadine Hydrochloride: An Anti-Influenza A Virus Agent and a Dopamine Receptor Agonist

Rimantadine hydrochloride is an anti-influenza A virus agent and a dopamine receptor agonist, similarly amantadine hydrochloride [A0588]. Genetic studies suggest that rimantadine inhibits the replication of influenza A viruses by preventing the release of infectious viral RNA into the host cell nucleus by interfering with the function of the transmembrane of the viral M2 protein. In addition, there is evidence to suggest that rimantadine act as a dopamine receptor agonist. (The product is for research purpose only.)
