Application
Teprenone: An Agent with Potent Effects for Gastritis and Ulcers
Teprenone (or geranylgeranylacetone, GGA) has been demonstrated to show a potent anti-ulcer effect against various ulcers. Teprenone also promotes mucus synthesis and secretion in cultured gastric mucosal epithelial cells, and increases of gastric mucosal prostaglandins. Recently, teprenone has been shown to induce heat shock proteins (HSPs) in various cell types and to protect cells from apoptogenic insults. (The product is for research purpose only.)
