Application
Melinamide: A Potent and Selective Inhibitor of ACAT
Melinamide is a potent and selective inhibitor of Acyl-Coenzyme A (ACAT, also known as sterol O-acyltransferase or SOAT), which is an intracellular enzyme that catalyzes the formation of cholesteryl esters from cholesterol and fatty acyl-CoA.1,2) Recently, many studies have suggested that ACAT-1 (SOAT-1) plays a critical role in cancer initiation and progression and is an attractive target for novel anticancer therapies.2,3) (The product is for research use only.)
