Sulfonamide is an increasingly prominent functional group found in many drugs and drug candidates. Whereas, sulfonimidamide has recently garnered attention as a bioisostere of carboxylic acid and sulfonamide. Both, DABSO and TrNSO are convenient reagents for the one-pot syntheses of sulfonamide/sulfonimidamide compounds from Grignard reagents.
