1,8-Diiodoanthracene (1) could be introduced into various functional groups on the 1- and 8- positions of anthracene. Recently, 1 has been used as a building block for π-conjugated oligomers consisting of anthracene and acetylene units and a bipolar carrier transport material of organic light-emitting diode devices.1,2)
