TCI Basic Procurement Policy

1. Basic Philosophy

Under our corporate philosophy of “Contributing to society through reagents,” TCI conducts procurement activities that contribute to the advancement of science and realization of a sustainable society. TCI complies with applicable laws and regulations, the PSCI Principles advocated by PSCI (a nonprofit organization), and ISO 26000, an international guidance on social responsibility. Through fair, transparent, and responsible procurement, TCI aims to co-create value with our customers and partner companies.

2. Procurement Policy

  • Fair and Equitable Transactions
TCI evaluates suppliers fairly and impartially regardless of nationality or size, selects them through fair competition, and conducts transactions at fair and reasonable prices. TCI also engages in fair transactions based on sound and fair business practices.
  • Compliance with Laws and Social Norms
TCI strictly complies with all domestic and overseas laws and regulations, guidelines, contractual requirements, and international standards applicable to procurement activities. In procurement operations, TCI does not request or accept any improper benefits by leveraging any superior position or authority, and ensures responsible conduct grounded in sound business ethics.
  • Ensuring Quality and Safety
To maintain superior quality and safety of TCI’s reagent products, TCI applies stringent quality control and safety standards to procured products and materials, and secures stable supplies. TCI also ensures product safety and traceability from the procurement stage onward, thereby providing products that customers can use with confidence.
  • Building Partnerships
TCI places importance on building long-term, trust-based relationships with suppliers and values partnerships that contribute to mutual growth and sustainability.
  • Environmental Considerations
In procurement activities, TCI complies with environmental laws and regulations, endeavors to reduce environmental impacts, and promotes green procurement as well as resource conservation and energy saving. TCI also works to protect the global environment and biodiversity, including taking measures to address climate change and having consideration for animal welfare in animal testing.
  • Respect for Human Rights and Labor Conditions
TCI prohibits child labor and forced labor, and conducts procurement that respects workers’ fundamental rights. TCI protects workers’ human rights and employment-related rights, prohibits discrimination, respects diversity, and ensures occupational health and safety in the workplace. Accordingly, TCI requests that suppliers uphold the same commitments.
  • Anti-Corruption and Anti-Bribery
TCI strictly prohibits bribery, extortion, embezzlement, and any other provision of improper benefits, as well as excessive provision of gifts or entertainment. TCI ensures transparency in procurement and conducts activities based on high ethical standards.
  • Supply Chain Risk Management
TCI takes a comprehensive view of the entire supply chain—from raw material procurement to product delivery—and promotes the provision of stable supplies and implementation of measures based on its BCP (Business Continuity Plan). TCI also requests that suppliers undertake improvement activities through self-assessments and audits, thereby building a responsible and reliable supply chain.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Life-Cycle Considerations
TCI constantly considers environmental and social impacts across the entire product life cycle, from raw material procurement to disposal, and continuously reviews and improves this procurement policy through dialogue with a diverse range of stakeholders, including customers, local communities, regulatory authorities, and industry associations.

3. Contribution to a Sustainable Society

TCI promotes procurement activities that take ESG (environmental, social, and governance) factors into account and, together with its suppliers, works to realize a sustainable society.
