Rosuvastatin enhances VSV-G lentiviral transduction of NK Cells.1)
Rosuvastatin calcium is a 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl CoA (HMG-CoA) reductase inhibitor (statin). Compared with most other statins, rosuvastatin possesses a greater number of binding interactions with HMG-CoA reductase and exhibits greater potency in inhibiting enzyme activity and cholesterol synthesis in hepatic cells than other statins. Rosuvastatin is relatively hydrophilic, similar in this respect to pravastatin [
P1796]. Rosuvastatin has one of the longest terminal half-life of the statins and is only minimally metabolized by the cytochrome P 450 (CYP 450) enzyme system with no significant involvement of the 3A4 (CYP3A4) enzyme.
