Application
Delamanid: Anti-Mycobacterial Agent
Delamanid (OPC-67683) is a nitro-dihydro-imidazooxazole derivative that is reduced and activated by the mycobacterial F420 enzyme system and interferes with mycolic acid biosynthesis. Delamanid therefore inhibits the biosynthesis of the mycobacterial cell wall components, methoxy-mycolic acid and keto-mycolic acid. Delamanid has shown potent in vitro and in vivo activity against drug-resistant strains of a mycobacteria, Mycobacterium tuberculosis. (The product is for research use only.)
