Application
Busulfan: A Bifunctional Antitumor Alkylating Agent
Busulfan (1,4-butanediol dimethanesulfonate) is a bifunctional antitumor alkylating agent. Busulfan produces a greater degree of DNA-protein and DNA interstrand crosslinking, and thus may effectively induce DNA damage which may play an important role in the cytotoxicity. Busulfan has been used widely for the treatment of chronic myelogenous leukemia, and is currently used in the myeloablative conditioning regimen before hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. (The product is for research purpose only.)
