To the boronic acid (1.0 mmol) in MeCN (5 mL) is added HSA (170 mg, 1.5 eq.), followed by aq. NaOH solution (1 mol/L, 5 mL). The biphasic mixture is stirred for 16 h at room temperature. The reaction mixture is diluted with H2O (30 mL, saturated aq. NH4Cl for products containing acidic functional groups) and extracted with EtOAc (2 × 30 mL). The combined organic extracts are dried (Na2SO4) and concentrated in vacuo. The residue is puriﬁed by ﬂash chromatography (EtOAc:hexanes) to aﬀord the amine product.
