Application
電位依存性ナトリウムチャネル (VGSC) 阻害剤,オクスカルバゼピン
Oxcarbazepine is an antiepileptic agent with a chemical structure similar to carbamazepine [CAS: 298-46-4], adding an extra oxygen atom to the benzylcarboxamide group. Oxcarbazepine was developed to improve the side effect profile of carbamazepine. Oxcarbazepine is rapidly metabolized to 10,11-dihydro-10-hydroxycarbazepine (monohydroxy derivative, MHD) which also has the pharmacological activity. The precise mechanism of action is unknown, but in vitro studies indicate that oxcarbazepine and MHD produce blockade of voltage-sensitive sodium channels (VGSC), resulting in stabilization of hyperexcited neural membranes. (The product is for research purpose only.)
