Application
PyFluor: A Stable Deoxyfluorinating Agent
Experimental procedure: A vial is charged sequentially with substrate (1.0 mmol), toluene (1 mL, 1.0 mol/L), PyFluor (177 mg, 1.1 eq.), and DBU (300 µL, 2 eq.). PyFluor is dispensed as a liquid (m.p. 23 – 26 °C). The mixture is stirred at room temperature for 48 hours under ambient atmosphere. Occasionally, an exotherm is observed following addition of base, corresponding to sulfonate ester formation. Reaction progress is accompanied by formation of pale yellow to dark orange precipitates. Products are isolated by column chromatography.
