Application
Pranoprofen: a non-selective cyclooxygenase (COX) inhibitor
Pranoprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents (NSAIDs), is a non-selective cyclooxygenase-1 and -2 (COX-1 and -2) inhibitor. COXs are responsible for the formation of prostaglandins which play a key role in the generation of the inflammatory response. The inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis are effective in suppressing inflammation. In clinical, pranoprofen is used as an ophthalmic medicine to treat inflammation, keratitis, conjunctivitis and blepharitis after eye surgery. (The product is for research purpose only.)
