Application
Probenazole: A Plant Defence Activator against the Rice Blast Fungus
Probenazole has been used widely in Asia to protect rice plants against the rice blast fungus Magnaporthe grisea.1-3) Its mode of action is not completely understood partly because biological systems of systemically induced resistance are not still well defined in rice. However, it has been reported that probenazole, called as a plant defense activator, specifically enhances the plant's own natural immunity when a pathogen tries to invade, and prevents infection by the plant's own power.4,5) (The product is for research purpose only.)
