Deoxygenation of Epoxides

D. L. J. Clive and co-workers have reported the reaction of the present reagent 1 and an epoxide in the presence of trifluoroacetic acid to generate alkene. This reaction is completed in a short time under mild conditions and can be said to be a useful method to sterically retain the C-C bond of an epoxide.
