Application
Abiraterone Acetate: A Prodrug of Abiraterone [A2868]
Abiraterone acetate (CB7630) is a prodrug of abiraterone [A2868] which is a selective inhibitor of the steroidogenic enzyme cytochrome P450 17A1 (CYP17A1) which catalyzes two key serial reactions (17α-hydroxylase hydroxylase and 17,20-lyase) in androgen and estrogen biosynthesis. Abiraterone is more potent than ketoconazole [K0045] as an inhibitor of CYP17. Abiraterone acetate is an agent used in combination with prednisone [P1276] in metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). (The product is for research purpose only.)
