Condensing Agent
Experimental procedure:
cis-2,3-Diphenylcyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (~150 mg) is dissolved in dichloromethane (20 mL). 1-[3-(Dimethylamino)propyl]-3-ethylcarbodiimide methiodide (ETC) (1.1 eq.) and DMAP (0.1 eq.) are added followed by the addition of the chiral amine (1.1 eq.). The mixture is stirred overnight. The solution is washed with deionized water (3 x 5 mL), dried over Na2SO4, concentrated and purified by silica gel column chromatography (hexane/ethyl acetate) to afford the corresponding amide.
