Naproxen Sodium: A Water Soluble Sodium Salt of Naproxen
Naproxen sodium is a water soluble sodium salt of naproxen [M1021], which is a nonselective nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) and is also the pharmacologically active enantiomer of (±)-naproxen [M1220]. Naproxen and naproxen sodium are chemically identical species and have the same biologic properties. However, administration of naproxen as the sodium salt can be expected to permit more rapid absorption from the gastrointestinal tract. (The product is for research purpose only.)
