Application
An Ethynylating Agent
Experimental procedure1): A solution of 1 (89 mg, 0.40 mmol, 1.0 eq.) and TMS-EBX (179 mg, 0.520 mmol, 1.3 eq.) in dried THF (6 mL) is stirred at -78 °C for 5 min under nitrogen. After this period of time, TBAF (1 mol/L in THF, 1.3 eq.) is added and mixture is vigorously stirred for 1 h at -78 °C. The reaction mixture is quenched with deactivated silica gel and the solvent is evaporated under reduced pressure. The product is purified by flash chromatography (SiO2, Hexane:EtOAc = 8:1) to afford 2 (92 mg, 0.37 mmol, 93%) as yellow oil.
