Application
Tyrphostin A9: A Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitor
Tyrphostin A9 (other names in the references: Malonoben, Tyrphostin AG17 or SF6847) is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor originally synthesized as a potential anticarcinogenic compound. Reportedly, tyrphostin A9 selectively inhibits the activity of a platelet-derived growth factor receptor (PDGFR) protein1), the growth of vascular smooth muscle cells1), the growth of cancer cells2,3), and the phosphorylation of tyrosine1,2,4,5).
