Application
Xylazine: A α2-Adrenegic Receptor Agonist
Xylazine and its hydrochloride [X0059] are α2-adrenegic receptor agonists, and decrease the release of norepinephrine and dopamine in the central nervous system resulting in effects such as analgesia, sedation and muscle relaxation. Xylazine is used as a veterinary medicine for sedation, and is particularly used worldwide as a short- acting sedative in general equine and racing practice. (The product is for research purpose only.)
