Yakuchinone A: A Major Constituent of a Traditional Medicine Alpinia oxyphylla
Yakuchinone A is a major constituent of a traditional medicine Alpinia oxyphylla, and exhibits anti-inflammatory, antitumor, antibacterial, and gastric protective activities. It has been reported that yakuchinone A inhibits the expression of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) as well as the expression of tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α mRNA in mouse skin. (The product is for research purpose only.)
