BIX-01294: A Selective Histone Methyltransferase (G9a HMTase) and G9a-Like Protein (GLP) Inhibitor
BIX-01294 is a selective inhibitor of the G9a histone methyltransferase (G9a HMTase) and G9a-like protein (GLP), and has no effect on other known HMTases. Additionally, it has been reported that BIX-01294 improves the reprogramming efficiency in neural precursor cells (NPCs) transduced with Oct3/4-Klf4 to a level comparable to transduction with all four Yamanaka factors (Oct3/4, Sox2, Klf4, and c-Myc), in generating iPS cells using Oct4 and Klf4.
