Application
Naringenin: A Flavanone with Numerous Biological Properties such as Antioxidant and Anti-Inflammatory Activities
Naringenin, a major flavanone, is found in the Chinese herbal medicines, tomatoes, grapefruits, and many other citrus fruits, and an aglycone form of Naringin [N0073]. It has been demonstrated to possess numerous biological properties such as antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities.1) Naringin and naringenin inhibit some drug-metabolizing cytochrome P450 (CYP) 3A4 activity in human liver microsomes, which may result in drug-drug interactions.1) In addition, naringenin is used as a starting compound for organic synthesis.2,3) (The product is for research purpose only.)
