Application
Pseudouridine (Ψ): A Modified Pyrimidine Nucleoside Found in RNA
In recent years, numerous studies have demonstrated the outstanding abilities of mRNA to elicit potent immune, making it a viable new platform for vaccine development.1) Additionally there are reports on incorporation of modified nucleobases into mRNA offering advantages for the generation of potent and long-lived antibody responses.2) In protein biosynthesis, pseudouridines, such as pseudouridine (Ψ) [P2939 (synthetic)] [P2396] and 1-methylpseudouridine (m1Ψ) [M3387], are read like uridine (U) and enable comparatively high protein yields.3) Furthermore, pseudouridine has attracted attention for its function in epitranscriptomics, namely the study of RNA modifications.2,4)
