Chlormadinone Acetate: A Derivative of Progesterone Possess Strong Progestogenic Effect
Chlormadinone acetate is a derivative of natural progesterone [P0478] that shows high affinity and activity at the progesterone receptor. Chlormadinone acetate has a strong progestogenic effect about one-third higher than that of natural progesterone. In addition, chlormadinone acetate shows moderate anti-androgenic effect than that of natural progesterone. Chlormadinone acetate is used in the treatment for prostatic hyperplasia and prostatic cancer, and in combination with ethinylestradiol (or ethynylestradiol) [E0037] in contraception. (The product is for research purpose only.)
