Anwendung
VX-765: A Potent and Selective Inhibitor of the Enzyme Caspase 1
VX-765 is an orally absorbed prodrug of VRT-043198 which is a potent and selective inhibitor of the enzyme Caspase 1 which is involved in inflammation and cell death.1,2) It has recently been reported that NLR family pyrin domain-containing protein 3 (NLRP3), a pattern recognition receptor, forms a complex called NLRP3 inflammasome in response to irritating metabolites and pathogens, and induces the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, Interleukin (IL)-1β and IL-18. VX765 has also attracted attention as a NLRP3 inflammasome inhibitor which shows anti-inflammatory activity.3,4) (The product is for research purpose only.)
