Chlorinating Agent
Experimental procedure1): To a solution containing the 1 (0.05 mol) in acetic acid (100 mL) is slowly added 1,3-dichloro-5,5-dimethylhydantoin (0.05 mol) maintaining the temperature at 20 °C by external cooling. After slurrying for 2 h, the mixture is cooled and 2 is collected (Yield: 84%).
