Toepassing
Sulindac: A Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID) with Unique Metabolisms
Sulindac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic activities. The mechanism of action, like that of other NSAIDs, is not completely understood but may be related to prostaglandin synthetase inhibition. Sulindac is a unique prodrug. Slindac is reversibly metabolized to sulindac sulfide [S0906] which has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties and is irreversibly metabolized to sulindac sulfone which has been suggested to possess antiproliferative effects against tumors.
