Cefsulodin Sodium Salt: A Third Generation Cephalosporin Antibiotic with Specific Activity against Pseudomonas Aeruginosa
Cefsulodin sodium salt is a third generation semisynthetic cephalosporin antibiotic, which is chemically synthesized form 7-aminocephalosporanic acid (7-ACA) [A1266]. It has a narrow-spectrum restricted to Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It has no significant activity against other Gram-negative bacteria and very limited activity against Gram-positive bacteria and anaerobic bacteria. It has increased stability to β-lactamases like the other third generation cephalosporin antibiotics.
