Application
Bilastine: A Selective Histamine H1 Receptor Antagonist
Bilastine is a selective histamine H1 receptor antagonist. On the other hand, the results of studies on bilastine confirmed the lack of significant antagonism against not only histamine H2 and H3 receptors but also serotonin, bradykinin, leukotriene D4, calcium, muscarinic M3-receptors, α1-adrenoceptors, and β2-adrenoceptors. Furthermore, bilastine do not cause sedation or interact with cytochrome P 450. Therefore, bilastine is used as a second generation H1-antihistamine for the treatment of allergic rhinitis and chronic urticarial. For your reference, [P2382] is a synthetic intermediate of bilastine.(The product is for research purpose only.)
