Application
Atazanavir Sulfate: An Azapeptide HIV-1 Protease Inhibitor
Atazanavir sulfate (BMS-232632) is s an azapeptide protease inhibitor with high specificity for, and activity against HIV-1 protease. Atazanavir selectively inhibits the virus-specific processing of viral Gag and Gag-Pol polyproteins in HIV-1 infected cells, thus preventing formation of mature virions. For the treatment of HIV-1 infection, atazanavir is recommended in combination with other antiretroviral agents such as ritonavir [R0116], a pharmacokinetic enhancer (booster). (The product is for research purpose only.)
