SU5416: A Selective Inhibitor of VEGF Receptor Tyrosine Kinase, Flk-1/KDR
SU5416 (semaxanib) is a selective inhibitor of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) receptor tyrosine kinase, Flk-1/KDR (fetal liver kinase 1/kinase insert domain- containing receptor), also known as VEGF receptor 2 (VEGFR2).1-4) VEGF plays a fundamental role in mediating tumor angiogenesis and tumor growth. There are reports that SU5416 suppresses tumor growth,1-4) and also results in angioproliferative pulmonary hypertension (PAH) in adult rats.4) (The product is for research purpose only.)
