Application
Lupeol: an anti-inflammatory triterpen targeting key signaling pathways
Lupeol is a pentacyclic triterpen contained in vegetable oils, cereals, fruits and vegetables. It has been reported that lupeol has potent anti-inflammatory, anti-carcinogenic, anti-mutagenic, and anti-malarial activity.1) Many studies on the mechanisms of action suggest that lupeol is a multi-target agent with immense anti-inflammatory potential targeting key signaling pathways which involve nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB), cFLIP, Fas, Kras, phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase (PI3K)/Akt and Wnt/β-catenin in a variety of cells.2-4) (The product is for research purpose only.)
