L-778123: A Dual Inhibitor of FTase and GGTase-I
L-778123 is a dual inhibitor of farnesyl protein transferase (FTase) and geranylgeranyl protein transferase type-I (GGTase-I). Ras is a family of related proteins that control growth, differentiation, and transformation. Oncogenic Ras requires the farnesylation by FTase or GGTase-I for the cell-transforming activity of oncogenic mutants. Therefore, FTase and GGTase-I inhibitors have received attention in recent years, as a new class of potential cancer therapeutic agents. (The product is for research purpose only.)
