Catalytic [2+2+2] Cycloaddition Reaction Using Cyanamides
Experimental procedure: FeI2 (15.6 mg, 0.05 mmol, 10 mol%) and dppp (42.4 mg, 0.1 mmol, 20 mol%) are placed in a dried Schlenk tube. Subsequently, distilled THF (2 mL) is added. The resulting mixture is stirred at room temperature for 30 min to afford an orange-yellow clear solution, at which time Zn dust (6.5 mg, 0.1 mmol, 20 mol%) is added. After an additional 30 min of stirring, 1 (0.5 mmol) is added followed by diethylcyanamide (1 mmol, 2 eq.), and the mixture is stirred for 24 h. The solvent is evaporated, and the crude product is directly purified by silica gel flash column chromatography to give 2 (83% yield) as a colorless oil.
