1H-Imidazole-4-carboxamide: A Plant-Growth Regulator Produced by the Fairy Ring Forming Fungus
"Fairy rings" is the phenomenon in which grass grows or dies in a circle. In 2010, it was reported that the fairy rings were induced by 1H-imidazole-4-carboxamide produced by one of the fairy rings forming fungi, Lepista sordida. Furthermore, imidazole-4-carboxamide stimulated the growth of all the plants tested.
