Cheng等人报道了卤代芳烃的钯催化氰化反应。结果显示，在存在[1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane]palladium(II) dichloride催化剂的情况下，分别以甲酸和甲酸钠作为酸和添加剂，卤代芳烃和硫氰酸亚铜进行反应生成相应的芳香腈，反应产率很高。这个反应中，即使使用芳烃硼酸代替卤代芳烃，反应也能顺利进行，且硼酸基可以直接被氰基取代。由于硫氰酸亚铜是一种廉价且无毒的氰源，该方法新颖且安全，可以用于芳香腈的制备。
