Loxoprofen: A Prodrug of Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug and a Non-Selective Cyclooxygenase Inhibitor
Loxoprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) in the propionic acid derivatives group, which also includes ibuprofen[I0415], ketoprofen[K0038] and naproxen[M1021] among others. loxoprofen is a prodrug that is rapidly converted to its active trans-alcohol metabolite (loxoprofen-SRS) following oral administration. Loxoprofen is a non-selective cyclooxygenase inhibitor. It works by reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins from arachidonic acid. Loxoprofen has more potent analgesic activity than that of ketoprofen or naproxen. (The product is for research purpose only.)
