Calcitonin: A 32 Amino Acid Peptide Hormone with the Activity of Inhibiting Osteoclast
Calcitonin is a 32 amino acid peptide hormone, which has been found in fish, reptiles, birds, and mammals. It is a powerful inhibitor of osteoclast activity that exerts a rapid, transient, and reversible inhibition of bone resorption. The most commonly studied form is salmon calcitonin, which has been used for the treatment of osteoporosis and other diseases. (The product is for research purpose only.)
